Prayer for Devotion: But If Not — Devotion #77

Scripture: Daniel 3:17–18 (KJV)

We often become so focused on what we’re asking God to do that we forget to thank Him for who He already is.

In Daniel 3, three Hebrew men believed God was able to deliver them from the fiery furnace. But even if He didn’t, they had already decided to remain faithful.

That’s a powerful reminder for us this morning.

We may still be waiting for answers. Our circumstances may not have changed, and there may be things we simply don’t understand.

But God’s goodness has never depended on whether life turns out the way we hoped.

Sometimes the most meaningful prayer we can offer is simply, “Thank You, Lord, for being God.”

A Morning Thank You Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being faithful even when I don’t understand what You’re doing.

Thank You that Your goodness does not depend on the outcome of my prayers.

I know You are able, Lord. And even when Your answer is different from what I hoped, You are still worthy of my trust.

I may not know what You will do, but I’ve already decided.

There is no turning away from You.

Thank You for being God.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
