Some days are not meant for solving everything.

(Also, Devotion #68 “Hold”)

There are moments when the mind wants answers immediately. We want to know what is going to happen, what decision we should make, how something will work out, and what we need to do next.

The pressure to figure it all out can become heavier than the situation itself.

That may be when the better response is simply to hold.

Hold onto God when you do not know what comes next. Hold onto the things you already know to be true, even when your emotions are trying to convince you otherwise.

Give yourself permission to leave some questions unanswered for today.

Jesus reminded us not to carry tomorrow before it gets here.

That does not mean we ignore responsibilities or avoid decisions that need to be made. It means we do not have to live tomorrow’s problems before tomorrow arrives.

Maybe today does not require a solution.

Maybe it only requires enough faith to stay where you are, trust God with what you cannot see yet, and remember:

Tomorrow can carry tomorrow.

Scripture for Reflection

Matthew 6:34 (KJV)

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
