Prayer
Lord,
Prepare the altar of my heart.
I lay down the fear, the noise, the control, and everything I have been holding onto.
Like Elijah, I cry out for You to answer in a way only You can.
Let Your fire fall.
Burn away what does not belong, break what I cannot break, and turn my heart fully back to You.
Show me again that You are God, even in the silence, in the waiting, and in the places where I cannot see the answer yet.
Move where only You can move.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
This prayer is inspired by Elijah’s cry to God in 1 Kings 18 and the Sound Mind Projects soundtrack Fire Fall.
Elijah did not call on the Lord with uncertainty. He prepared the altar, laid everything before God, and cried out for Him to answer in a way only He could.
The fire fell after surrender.
This prayer is for the moments when you need God to move in the places you cannot fix, break what you cannot break, and turn your heart fully back to Him.
“ Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
