Breaking Strongholds and Finding Strength
Some battles are not won by pretending we are strong.
They are won by finally bringing the tired, tempted, ashamed, and worn-down parts of ourselves to God and saying, “I need You here too.”
This prayer is for the person who is tired of fighting in their own strength, tired of hiding the struggle, and ready to surrender the patterns that keep pulling them back.
Freedom does not always happen all at once, but God is still working in the slow places. He sees the battle, He hears the prayer, and He is able to break every chain.
Scripture
Psalm 40:1-2
I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
Prayer
Lord,
I bring You the parts of me that feel tired, tempted, ashamed, and worn down from waiting.
You see the struggle I keep trying to hide, and You know how badly I want to be free.
Help me stop fighting in my own strength and start surrendering this battle to You.
When change feels slow, remind me that You are still working.
When I feel weak, give me strength for the next right step.
Stop the patterns that keep pulling me back, quiet the lies that keep me stuck, and teach me to trust You before I see the full answer.
Break every chain, heal what has been damaged, and lead me into freedom that lasts.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
