Turning Arrows Into Opportunities

When pain stays hidden, it can become a pattern.

The enemy wants pain to become a pattern. He wants one wound to shape the way we love, trust, speak, and see ourselves. But when that wound is surrendered to God, the pattern can begin to break.

This short is part of the Turn Arrows Into Opportunities series from Sound Mind Projects. It is a reminder that wounds are real, but they do not have to become strongholds. God can heal what has been hidden, renew what has been shaped by pain, and transform the places we have learned to protect, avoid, or live around.

Mini Devotion:
Sometimes pain does not just hurt us once. If it stays buried, it can begin to shape how we respond to life.

Betrayal can become distrust.
Regret can become shame.
Family wounds can become patterns.
Fear can become the filter we see everything through.

Still, God does not ask us to surrender the wound so He can shame us. He invites us to surrender it so He can heal it.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Psalm 147:3 says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Healing may not happen all at once. Sometimes God breaks a pattern one surrendered place at a time. Even slow healing is still healing.

What the enemy wanted to use as a stronghold, God can turn into a place of restoration.

The wound may be real, but it does not have to become your pattern.

But when that wound is surrendered to God, the pattern can begin to break.”
